Age-Friendly Survey

Elderly Couple Walking

The Elgin St. Thomas Age-Friendly Steering Committee is developing a community plan for residents of Elgin County and the City of St. Thomas.  An Age-Friendly community is one where policies, services and structures related to the physical and social environments support and enable older residents to lead healthy, active lives and stay involved in their communities.   Topics of particular interest are outdoor spaces and buildings, transportation, housing, social and recreational opportunities, health care and community life.

The Elgin St. Thomas Age-Friendly Steering Committee is interested in the opinions of all members of the community.  A community survey is now available to obtain this feedback from the public and is available both online and in print format. Please take a few moments to complete this survey no later than Wednesday, May 24, 2017.  Your answers will help us better understand the needs of older adults in Elgin St. Thomas.  Your responses will be confidential and will go directly to the consultants tasked with this project.

If you are interested in learning about the results of the needs assessment, and contributing to setting goals as a community, please join us at the Community Stakeholder Forum on Monday June 5.
