On April 11, 2017, the City of St. Thomas received a bronze level Bicycle Friendly Community award from Share the Road Cycling Coalition. This is the result of several community partners working together on five key elements of the application including engineering, education, encouragement, enforcement and evaluation. The City of St. Thomas Engineering Department, Citizens 4 Active Transportation, Railway City Cycling Club, St. Thomas Police Service, Railway City Tourism and others have contributed to this success and their efforts are to be commended.
