Do you do pregnancy tests at Elgin St. Thomas Public Health ?
Pregnancy tests can be done at Elgin St. Thomas Public Health. We will have you collect a sample of urine and results are available witin five minutes. A nurse will counsel you with your options.


I would like to terminate my pregnancy. How can I go about arranging this?
Talk to your family doctor, nurse practitioner, or call or visit the Sexual Health Department at Elgin St. Thomas Public Health to speak to a nurse about available options.


Where can I get tested for STIs?
Testing by a doctor is available every Thursday by appointment. Call 519-631-9971 for an appointment.


Where can I get the Emergency Contraceptive Pill?
Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP) is available through your family doctor, nurse practitioner, pharmacists or the Sexual Health Department at Elgin St. Thomas Public Health.
ECP can be considered for up to five days after unprotected sexual intercourse, but effectiveness is reduced the longer you wait. It is 95% effective if taken within 24 hours.
