Sexual Health

Sexual health awareness is about more than simply ensuring you don’t have an infection or checking to make sure you are not pregnant. Being a healthy, sexual individual means that you are active in the promotion of protecting yourself against the dangers of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and are aware of ways to prevent unplanned pregnancy. Being healthy in a sexual sense also means you are comfortable with your own sexual orientation whether or not you identify yourself as straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered. The Sexual Health program at Elgin St. Thomas Public Health can provide you with resources that can help you achieve your own optimum level of healthy sexuality.

If you require more information or if you want to speak directly with a Public Health Nurse, you can call the Sexual Health Hotline Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm by phoning (519) 631-9971. You can also email your question or concern to a Public Health Nurse at sexualhealth@elginhealth.on.ca.
